 Ok I've got some good news and some bad news. What do you want to hear first? Ok I'll start with the good news.


First good news is our friend Dipesh got baptized 🥳 He has an amazing story! Dipesh was born in Kathmandu Nepal and raised Hindu. He had an arranged marriage and he and his wife came to America in the early 2000s. A few years later he finds out that his wife is a contract killer and is planning his murder 😲He got divorced and that is behind him now. A few years back he met with a couple Jehovah's Witnesses each Sunday and he learned more about Jesus Christ. Then 4 weeks ago in a parking lot we invited Dipesh to church! He came and he loved it! Now Dipesh is kickin it with his new friends! We took a picture and he said that he was going to frame it 🥺 

We had a mission tour this week. A mission tour is when a leader in the church comes and talks to us for hours on hours. It was great! Elder Sean Douglas of the seventy came and spoke to us. One of the things that he said that I loved was about forgiveness. He shared from 2 nephi 4:19 "And when I desire to rejoice, my heart groaneth because of my sins; nevertheless, I know in whom I have trusted" It's easy to trust in the Savior's atonement and that it can take effect in the lives of those you see around you, but it's a lot harder to trust that his atonement really works when it comes to ourselves. It's easy to forgive others but hard to forgive ourselves, but if we don't forgive ourselves we aren't trusting that the Savior's Atonement was perfect or infinite.

I also watched the Young Adult fireside with the prophet this week. That sounds weird, I wasn't with the prophet when I watched 🤣 I watched the fireside featuring the prophet. Russell M Nelson,  "Let us talk about life, that's something with which I've had a little experience... in short I have lived a long time, and at this point I have stopped buying green bananas"🍌 I'm dead 😂 I know you all saw that 2 weeks ago but it's still hilarious. We also had a friend of ours take us out to a fancy Brazilian steakhouse in Manhattan🤤 I think I gained 25lbs. I'm not fat, I'm just filled with exceeding joy!
Now for the bad news 😖 You have to wait a whole week to read my next email 😭 I'm sorry for your loss

(I somehow missed this email so it is out of order!) We had transfers again. I am now in the Bronx. It is the best area in NYC by far. So blessed! All the fire hydrants here are broken and spew out water 24/7. There is a great deli right next to our church building so I'm gonna be fat. There is also a new drink there that is my favorite. People here are super humble and prepared by God. Should have some baptisms coming up. There are a lot of street vendors here selling a bunch of cheap fake stuff so that could be cool. One of the missionaries has a pickle ball net so we will be playing that on Mondays. My apartment has a washer and dryer. There is also a lot of places in the city where you can get big slices of pizza for a dollar. My comp is from Surprise Arizona. We went to a members house the last day I was in Long Island and she made us a cake and had lots of balloons and she won't leave Ashlyn alone on Facebook Bye Bye

Couple of Photos

No letter today but he sent these two pictures. Eating with a member (can’t tell what the food was) and before he left the Bronx.  This is the mission leader of the Spanish ward but Justin really liked him.  He said he was awesome!   Justin has said he’s gaining weight and I can see some extra fluff around the middle in this picture.  He eats a lot of sandwiches.  He says they are cheap!  They don’t often eat at members which is what he prefers.  He says a lot of time is wasted eating with members.  He’s got work to do!!
