AREA 7:  Brooklyn (4 Transfers)

Elder Trujillo (Utah)

Favorite Area:  Brooklyn because the work was good and it was the end of my mission so I knew more of what I was doing.  I was a zone leader which was fun and I had some good companions.

Favorite Companions:  Elder Swain and Elder Clayton.  We got along.  Good missionaries.

Favorite thing about NY:  Diversity.  Meeting people from all over.  Different areas were different from each other--nothing was the same

Friends that were baptized: (52 but 2 were technically members--they just forgot!) A lot of his baptisms came from the Bronx and Brooklyn areas.

1.  Christopher Geist--(only 1 baptism in first 8 months of his mission) lived in a 10X8 apartment in Manhattan.  They were teaching him when I got there.  He had loads of bunnies.  Bought two (a boy and a girl) and it went from there.  He didn't like the cops--people in his apartment always caused problems for each other.  Has a brother but didn't like him.

2.  Dipesh Bhattari (from Kathmandu, Nepal) found him on an exchange--me and another missionary Elder Garns--really good guy.  Parking lot in Long Island.  In our car--about to leave.  He was in the car next to us.  Rolled down window and invited him to church.  He said yes.  Got his number and then he left.  At the time Dipesh was searching for a job so we met him in the library after his job search for the day to teach him lessons.  Had no Christian background but he liked it.  He was in an arranged marriage and it turns out she was an assassin and she tried to kill him.  Shortly after baptism he got a job and moved to Pennsylvania.

3.  Bill Mitchell--former mass text.  Invited previously taught people to come to church.  He said he wanted to come and to let him know if anyone needed a ride and he would pick them up.  Pretty quiet.  Didn't take much interest in him since we had other louder friends we were focused on.  He had another church he was attending but he kept coming.  Ended up giving Bill a blessing.  He asked what difference was before and after baptism.  We told him with the way he was living basically nothing but the blessings he would receive.  Got baptized the next week.  Whenever there as a baptism in miser area nearby--Bill baptized them!  He was a carpenter and he make us pens out of wood.  My last transfer of the mission went to the temple with Bill for his endowment.

4. Fleurmond "Noel" Cherubin (from Haiti)

5.  a guy who worked at a Stop and Shop (grocery store)

6.  Milagros ("miracle" in Spanish...Burger King lady)

7.  Antonio Thompson

8.  Naomi

9.  Mikayla Rizzo (media referral....legally changed her name to this)

10. Devon Campbell

11. Kavanna Telford

12.  Nicholas Moscatello (Italian)

*That's as far as we got with the recap but I want to print what I have because I don't know if we'll get that much more...
